Presidents island update?

I've seen 4 of the 7 kills. One absolute stud 8 with a couple kickers. Other three I saw were all high 120 low 130 type deer. 2 killed yesterday am 5 in the pm. I had to quit at 1 yesterday to make it home for my oldest kiddo's birthday party. Afraid I missed all the hot action. I did have a 125-130 inch 8 point walk directly underneath my stand about 5 minutes after legal light this morning. Was a pretty sickening feeling if I'm being honest.

Were you able to take a shot?

I killed a 10pt there Friday morning at 9:35. 20yd shot thru a small opening thru some briars thicket. When I first saw him he was in a field about 100 yds and shocked like a dog. Tells me he just got up from his bed probably. I glass him to see if he was 9pt or better and saw he was main framed 8pt with kicker on his right side. Bleated him in on a line to me and hammered him thru both shoulders. He took off low hitting small trees till I couldn't see or hear him anymore. Waited a hour and got down slowly. Walked over where I shot him found no blood. Thought dang!!! I know he is hammered! Walked 10 yds where he started running and found arrow broken with good blood on it. Tracked blood for 60yds and found him up against other side of tree. My buddy who helped track him with me got to him first and said congratulations you got yourself a 10 pt. I said what!! O my God...my first ever 10 pointer!! Main framed 10 pt. Just so focused on kill zone to know that!! Before I shot him I saw a 4pt, a 8pt, 3 does, a big body buck seem to be 1000yds away glassing him in field from my stand too! Couldn't make out what he was. Great hunt and cold morning around 22 degrees. I went back in 2010 with no success. Came close though. I saw back then the biggest buck in my life hunting behind me about 60yds. Just didn't work out back then. Since the flood happened in 2011 it did go down hill though. Just mother nature in my opinion. Hopefully bucks will get better here on out in future hunts here. I will be back one of these years soon hopefully! Good luck hunters!!
