Private land January hunt?

Is there one this year in January? I didn't see it listed in the guide but I could of missed it.

Just double checked the regs and season dates and yep, it looks like the private land January doe hunt is gone. I'm sad about that since a goal of mine is to kill a deer in the snow.

Guess folks wanting to cull does late season are going to need to take a kid hunting.

I sure had a great time hunting in the cold and snowy weather the last week of January 2024. I seen tons of activity and it was just nice to break out some cold weather gear and sit in the stand. I really wished TWRA would have left this alone. I took a lot of pictures.

I hate that. I've been trying to get one in the snow with my old smoothbore, but a flintlock can be finicky in the cold, I guess. Six does came out about 30 yards, all I got was a klatch! Not even a flash in the pan. Had a good time though.

Dang I hate that. I usually look forward to that hunt as I get to sit around and relax knowing I don't have to wait for the biguns and just shoot the first thing that comes around.

It's just frustrating because they spend so much time talking about "opportunity" for everybody to duck hunt dwindling duck numbers, but they cut our legs out from underneath us as the deer population skyrockets. Complete crock.

I looked at this today because I was planning to take a neighbor to hopefully get their first deer that week and noticed it was gone. Oh well will try to do it before then once Christmas is over.

I don't. I have fewer than 4 weeks (weekends really). I took bigtime advantage of the early start in October & late January seasons because December is such a dumpster fire for my schedule.
