It's a little early and one year doesn't make a NFL QB. He's 6-8 as a starter and has only thrown 20 TDs to 12 picks????? He might be good for Fantasy Football..... :tu: His stats doesn't look much different than Tim Couch's stats.... :)

By the way, how's the kickers doing in the league............... :tu: :rotf: :smash:

Yet, YOU had seen enough early on to make your astute observation ;) :tu: !

Please, keep it up  .

Winston had a good rookie year that's a fact.

Winston also has a much better team around him then Mariota including receivers, HBs, and Oline. Also a fact.

Both were fun to watch. wish Mariota didn't get pounded so hard which caused more then 1 injury. He is out the rest of season last I heard with a MCL injury or something.

Mariota's stats are similar except that he missed some playing time..... :tu: Of course no one posted where I stated before the draft, "That Winston was more NFL ready."...... :tu:

Going into Sunday's game vs the pats Mariota on the ROAD had 10tds 1 interception.

Not bad for a rookie throwing to a Rookie receiver DGB, and harry dougles. with 0 run game to help.

Gator even you will have to admit Mariota's stats are no where close to Winstons. Mariota maybe needs to put on a little weight and run some more and he won't be sacked and hurt as much. You did point out Winston was maybe more NFL ready, but you also said "put a fork in him,he's a bust." :rotf: :rotf: Well thanks that's all I got for this year, except "maybe" rookie of the year. I did say maybe. :super: :super:

Winston stats are not much different than Tim Couch's stats.... Time will tell..... :)

For the first time in the Buccaneers' four-decade history they will send a rookie quarterback to the all-star game, as Jameis Winston will join four teammates in Honolulu.

Jameis Winston keeps breaking new ground.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Winston with the first overall pick in the 2015 draft believing he could develop into that most prized of NFL commodities: the franchise quarterback. He provided immediate evidence that the Buccaneers were right, becoming just the third rookie in NFL history and the first in team annals to throw for 4,000 yards.

Put a fork in him Gater. Can you post the rookie stats of Tim Couch ,since you seem to have an interest in him. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

did he actually get selected to go to the pro bowl or did enough other players say they didn't wanna go and he was what was left?

I know both Tom Brady & Phillip rivers declined to go to the pro bowl. Carson Palmer hurt his finger also declined to go, along with a few other QBs

Does Winston deserve rookie of the year? Yes, does he deserve a pro bowl his rookie season? probably not.

I would say under the the old Pro Bowl system he would not have been invited. There must not have been any remaining QB's left better than him. :tu: Still way to early to put a fork in him. Would Mariotta have accepted? Sure he would. :tu:

Agree... He completed less than 60% of his passes. Threw for 22 TDs VS 15 ints.

You have to go to page 2 to find Winston... :tu:

Jameis Winston, QB TB 312 535 58.3 4,042 7.56 68 22 15 27 84.2 253 and 6 rushing td's , 28 td's all together

Number 11 in the NFL :tu: Not a bad start for the worst team in the NFL last year :rotf: :rotf:

Would have mariotta accepted it? Probably, Heck I don't know? At least 5 probably more then that turned it down.

They will be 5 back up QBs in the pro bowl.

Would mariotta have accepted? Maybe, would he have DESERVED it Nope.

Does Winston deserve it? Nope.

Tyrod Taylor, played 14 games, 20 TD passes, will play in the pro bowl.

Teddy bridgewater, 14 passing TDs 9 ints, made the pro bowl lol really?

These are a few of the other back ups the found to play since so many others turned it down.

We'll never know cause he wasn't good enough to get invited. But, isn't this the best time of year to catch some waves? "Kowabunga"!! Lol
Mariota does have a better completion percentage, td to int ratio, and better qb rating with what I think is a much weaker supporting cast. winston only threw three more tds and five more int's than marioTa and was on the field a lot more.

Winston also has a bad supporting cast. Terrible wr's,except Evans who drops way too many passes. Winston throws an Int. every 36 attempts, MarioTA every 37. Not much difference. Mariota should work out more ,then maybe he could stay on the field. Run a little Marcus, throw the ball away.

MarioTA about 4% better comp % and about the same with QB rating. Those dinks and dunks will improve anybodies rating. Maybe stay off the surfboard and do leg lifts. Kinda nice Jameis gets to go to Hawaii. Do they have crab legs there?
