What's a good way to cook these birds? Our branch manager went in a company paid quail hunt down in AL and came back with a crap load of frozen birds. He gave them all to us. But I have no experience cooking them.

Not sure how yours are dressed, however the way I cook em (assuming yours are the whole bird and not just the breast), is to place a pad of butter on the inside of body with salt and pepper, close legs and wrap with bacon strip and cook in oven at 350 bout 45 min.

Skillet fried with mashed potatoes, English peas, gravy and biscuits from scratch is hard to beat.
Since its white meat be careful as to not dry the quail out while cooking.

Scroll down a bit and read my "crock pot quail" you will not regret this one.

Batter and skillet fry and then make you some gravy in the skillet. Have some homemade biscuits going at the same time. Oh My, memories of breakfasts during deer season many years ago at my moms.

Or you could bacon wrap and grill them.
