"Internal parts you can't see" ????? my Trophy Taker has an internal spring and the tension will begin to weaken after years of use.

Yea but my point is you can see the rest come up at draw when using tt or others like it. correcty me if I'm wrong, but the quad and the ripcord are in the up positon when you start to draw. You have no way of knowing if it's going to pull down or not it's all internal. that's what i was talking about
You do not have to lock the Ripcord up. You can let it come up as you draw. It will work both ways but the Trophy Taker will not from what I am told.

I have used the Trophy Taker for several years, and kills now. It has been, and is a GREAT rest. I have a buddy that bought one when I did. After a few years, though my rest was still fine, his began to take a little longer to get out of the way upon release. THis caused no problem with arrow flight. But it did show wear on fletchings after a while. He replaced the spring and things were fine.

I like to tinker with my gear. Not necessary, just fun for me. This new Rip-Cord rest allows me to use it just like the TT but I can lock it in the up posistion if I want, and it doubles as an arrow holder. Do a Google search for the Rip-Cord and you'll see video showing it getting out of the way of the arrow.

I use TT. I have had the same one for years. don't fix it if it aint broke. Easiest rest to set up that I've ever had. I tried the spott-hogg rest. I think it operates much like the other rests discussed here. I didn't much care for that one.

Yes Bob, you r right. It is a GREAT rest.

I just finished shooting the Rip cord and am pleased with the results. Broadheads, field tips same point of impact.

Looks good so far but I will wait to make final judgement in the Fall of 2010.
