No pass thru with rages?...........get a serious weighted arrow to broadhead and pounds of pull combination. I have not failed to get complete pass thrus since 1990. I have over 50+ kills and never had a failure of a pass thru since then...
I believe some folks dont get their set ups correct and suffer these things. Rages will cut on impact........get a bow that slings an arrow or get a heavier weighted arrow? What good is 300 fps if it has no kinetic energy to pass thru. There is no excuse for lack of pass thrus with todays fast bows and great arrows and expensive broadheads except poor choices of their usages..........imo!

Somebody please do the math for me...I am shooting a 27" 55-75 Goldtip with a 65-LB draw weight...It is coming out of a Martin Moab....Heck I dont know the FPS...100 grain broadhead..
I may actually be one of those guys that needs a cut on contact tip....Oh yeah like I said, Bullet holes in paper and Broadhead tuned with A Hellrazor...
Thanks in advance..

you need total arrow wt. and speed to figure KE.

RR - per OnTarget2 archery software your arrow should weight approx. 370gr. That's using the Expedition Hunter Black shafts, 4" vanes, standard insert and nock, and a 100gr point.

With a D-loop, nock point and peep you should be between 270 and 277fps.

That combo gives you ~63ft/lbs of KE out of the bow and carries ~54ft/lbs at 40yds.

I had to make a couple assumptions on the setup, but those numbers should be materially accurate.

Thanks man...If this information is fairly close, What is the verdict on Rage 2-Blade? :)

You should have got a pass thru with your setup.

For the record, the blades on the Rage are the only thing that bent with my heads. I had a pass thru everytime, just seem to hit bone and bend.

RR - I don't know if there is firm guidance as to how much KE you need to shoot a Rage 2 blade, but I would think you have enough. However, if you don't have confidence in them don't shoot them.
