Reason you hunt turkeys

I honestly do it because I have to. I would prefer relaxing in the boat crappie fishing, but I don't have a choice. The thought of the sun coming up and birds hammering is too much temptation for me to pass up.

Seriously if I don't get up and go I literally feel bad for not doing so like I missed something

If you sleep over turkey hunting, you DID miss somthing!

I meant this mornings when you get up but the weather looks sketchy at best so you decide against it. Wake up later and it looks perfect outside and just get pissed at yourself lol

That's an affirmative. I have drug myself out of bed several days in a and u will nod off sitting against a tree. The best feeling.

Oh man some of the best sleep I've ever had was in the turkey woods around 9 am hahah

or you don't even set an alarm because the forecast looks bad and you wake up to sunny weather. I hate those days

Reason I turkey hunt? Pretty simple....the game! Pure adrenaline rush and just something about the smell of the spring woods. No other hunting IMO compares. How a person who cares anything about any kind of hunting could go turkey hunting for the first time, get a bird close, and feel it in your chest when he gobbles and not be hooked I'll never know.

For many its a game of numbers and kills, even for the "traditionalist". For me its about being in the woods plain and simple. Killing one is just part of it, whether I kill one or not NEVER measures the success of my hunt. In all actuality killing one is pretty simple, how you do it makes all the difference and I have ZEROE qualms with how you chose to kill one. But if someone ask my opinion then be prepared for a answer you will not agree with.

Put it this way, if you miss the forest for all the turkeys then I fell sorry for you. Mother Nature has a lot to offer.

1. Wild Turkey is far better than Steroid injected farm raised turkey
2. They gobble
3. What else would I do with my free time every morning
4. Did I mention they gobble?

Seriously, if God said I could only hunt one critter it would be the turkey....followed closely by the black bear
