I just got a new 20 GA and I've decided to put a red dot scope on it.Im thinking a Vortex or a truglo. What would you get and why?I have a scope on my other turkey gun and don't want to take it off, so I want to get the red dot for this reason. Also, do you need to get a special choke made just for tss shot shells, this is the first time ever shooting tss shells.

I'm running a CVA Scout .410 with an Sig Romeo 3 and TSS. It'll put 20 kill shot pellets on a target at 50 yards.

I'm currently taking a Benelli M2 12ga with a Kick's Gobbling Thunder .655 and mounting a Burris FF3 with the SpeedBead mount. Ordered the sight and HeviShot TSS 7 shot today. I'll update with results once everything comes in and I sight in.

I wish my M2 was a 20 ga but just working with what I've got.

you dont "need" a special choke by any means especially if you are a 35yd and under guy. If you want to extend that range you may want to invest in an aftermarket choke like a carlons or indian creek.

as far as red dots there are a lot of really good options, just depends on what features and $ you wanna spend. Do you like the shake awake option vs on off switch for example, do you want a bigger front screen vs a much smaller footprint, do you want auto brightness vs manual just to name a few.
For the money the burris FF3 is the most tried and true option out there IMO but vortex, holuson, swampfox, leupold all make really good ones with different features but all those minus the swampfox is gonna cost more $

What about the reflex by Bushnell I think.
Just bought a Bushnell rxs-250. Freedom USA has them right now for 80 bucks, sight has a lifetime warranty. I put it on my Retay 20 gauge and it works great. As far as chokes are concerned I use the factory x full in the Retay and it shoots TSS great. My other 20 gauge guns all have the Carlson 575 non ported turkey choke throws a nice even pattern for turkey hunting with TSS.

I originally tried to find an old Leupold NTWF optic for my Winchester but with the prices of those I was able to find, decided on this Vortex. It mounts really low and co-witnesses with the iron sights. I think I'll leave them on. This has several reticle options, brightness settings, and turns on with movement. There is a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle around it that if my hillbilly math is correct should be @33" at 50 yards. Hopefully this will help out a little.
Aim small!

I just ordered rxs 100 , what base did you get for it to mount on your gun.

I'm looking at optics/rib sights as well so no opinions there but just wanted to give a shout out to satties fatties. They will load whatever you want and for cheaper than most other tss. I called them and talked to Aaron satterfield (owner) and he was very helpful. Flat rate 12 dollar shipping up to 3 boxes

Also I used patternpros to find a good load. Almost all tss shot well in mine

if your gun is drilled and tapped get a sumtoy OR the new receiver mount from Meadow Creek. If its not get the Meadow Creek rib mount.

That Bushnell RXS take the Leupold Delta Pro footprint.
Egw makes a mount too more availability than medow creeks new mount. Pretty much the same thing just been around longer

I'm sure they are quality mounts I've just never known anyone to use one. Sumtoy mounts I have used and know a lot of people that also use them with good results
