Red Dot Scopes and TSS Shells?

That's my problem… pins are to tight. Real tight. I've read Emory cloth and slightly widening the receiver holes but slightly nervous about that.

understood. I just remember when I put mine on (been a few years now) I thought the same. I called my buddy who put one on his and is pretty much a gunsmith these days and he said this to me "it will be tight, to the point you think you are going to break it (the mount not the gun), but just keep going. Trust me it will go in and be fine"

So thats what I did and he was right.

Got it on… pain in the ass but she's in. Planned on sighting in this afternoon but no dice. We'll see soon.

Vortex Defender 6 moa with Meadow Creek mount on SBE 3-20. Great set up

Ive never understood the 6moa crowd (I dont mean that in a bad way to be clear). I have a 6moa sight on my carry pistol and out past 20 yards the dot at that size covers the entire target. Thats fine with me for a carry pistol but on a shotgun shooting at a small target it doesnt work for me at all.

again not meant as a bad comment, if it works for you then great.

I have terrible eyesight. I debated on going with 3 mos. At 40 yds the 6 is perfect for me.

I think the larger dot will work for wing shooting mounted on the rib. Larger sight easy to track flying objects.

For those who have the ff4, is it worth the extra money over the ff3 and if so, what makes it that much better?

I have both. WORTH is dependent on the person. For me personally yes I like the upgrades enough to spend the extra money, however I dont pay retail for burris stuff so take that into account.

Updates from the FF3
- Updated battery top, this was an issue on the 3. A lot of people have issues the the 3's batter top from getting it off and getting it back on. the 4 has an updated version that makes it much easier
- Bigger front screen, this was a big one for me.
- On/Off process was update, I had no issue with the FF3 process but on the 4 the buttons are bigger making it easier to find and adjust
- Has a multi reticle, this meant nothing to me as I like just a single dot. However some really love this feature and its easy to cycle through the reticle options
- I believe the battery life is slightly longer on the 4 but I could be wrong there. EIther way the FF3 had like 50,000min life which is VERY VERY good
- FF4 has a new rain cover attachment thats WAY WAY better then the old plastic one on the 3s. It is metal and screws into the back on the sight making it fully enclosed. Not as easy or fast to put it on but its much more robust, clearer sight picture and much better then the 3's option IMO. If I know its gonna rain or possiblity I just put it on the night before and keep it on. Some people run it on there all the time.

Cons
Im not sure the FF4 is as durable as the the 3 possible due to the larger front window. I already broke one, granted I dropped the gun and it literally landed on the sight on a rock and broke the glass on it. I have seen others that had issue with the front glass breaking or coming out of the housing. Granted not a big deal to me, I sent my FF4 back after it broke and had a brand new one no questions asked in 3 weeks. But Ive hunted with a FF3 on 2 guns for about 5 years and they have been through some stuff and that sight was built like a tank. Per Burris the 4 is suppose to be more robust then the 3.
