Reduced recoil .300 win mag

PAST magnum recoil pad. I own 3. At the range I am never without one of them on.

Caldwell bought the company some time ago....prices are still relatively acceptable.

IIRC it is unwise to download a magnum. You can achieve detonation of the powder charge instead of the controlled burn which raises chamber pressure in a known and engineered for manner. True, it is rare. But there is a LOT of room for powder in a 300.

Ever load IMR7828????? This powder has a slow burn rate that just so happens to make 300 Weatherby Mag rifles shoot very accurately. It is still what I use in my 300 Winchester magnums. I never ever go below book minimum.

Anyone on here ever made any .300 win mag with less recoil? I will be shooting it suppressed. I shouldn't ever shoot over 300 yards. Is this even a thing?
If you haven't shot it with the suppressor yet you might be surprised at how manageable full power loads are in it. The suppressor really helps.

Cuts a 300 Win Mag max load IMR7828, 3000 FPS 180 gr Nosler partition, down to 243 level.

Protect your ears in the field.

Hodgdon Reloading data website shows 18 different reduced recoil loads, all using a 150 grain bullets (two different brands).
They all show speeds around 2,500fps at ~36,000psi (which is very low)

The most common powders for reduced recoil loads a H4895 and Accurate 5744. H4895 in this data set, but I know people have done it. 5744 powder has been unobtanium.

300 Win Mag reduced recoil loads

I think it's called a 30-06. 😁 LOL jk, I'm sure you could load down for a reduced load in one, but I've not attempted it myself. I had a friend that loaded 110 gr bullets in one once, man that thing was zipping!
Ever try accelerators in your 30-06? Back in the 80's I think. 45 grain with sabot. 4500 FPS or something like that.

I put a Banish 30 on my 300 WM and it SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the recoil. Noise level reduced to about the same as my 22 WM. Try the can before you start messing with loads.
