I have 10 reveal cams. 2024 season I bought two "Reveal X-Pro" cameras. Both of them EAT UP THE BATTERIES compared to my other Reveals. I have read: I read: "too sensitive settings" - too many pics per trigger, short detection delays, etc. WELL, the purpose of the cameras is to catch that big buck as he walks thru the front of the cam. If set "too short detection" THEN you get the bucks back 2/3 of the body ... no head shots. OR if set "too many pics per trigger" THEN you may miss the buck chasing 20-40 feet behind the hot doe. ALSO, the new cameras are terrible with eating up TWELVE batteries in about 2 weeks. I can't go to my hunting lease every two weeks to change out batteries ... no to mention the cost. Very frustrating.
I have not had this issue in the past with my Reveals. DOES ANYONE know "the best trail cam on the market" today????

I had a 2.0 that would last a whole season on one set of batteries. Bought another and they wouldn't last 2 weeks. Pretty sure its just an issue with this one camera, but I wasn't able to update the firmware. I'm in discussuion with Tactacam on the issue. Waiting for a resolution.

I'm running XB's and they've been out since July or August on plan alkaline Duracells with one of their solar panels. The new panels are supposed to actually charge the new style battery pack but idk that I can get the pack back out of my 3rd camera that I'm testing it in. It is TIGHT we will see 😬
