AT the range earlier this week Son brought along his SPC II looking for a recipe that shot accurate.

We have been through quite a few combinations and while all were kind of acceptable at 100 yards I would not be taking them to a 400 yard shoot.

So we went through a few more loads and frankly wasting the .277 bullets was beginning to irk me.

We got down to two loads left to shoot. Both IMR 4198 powder and Barnes 95 gr TTSX. The first up was 24 grains and we got what we always seem to get---not good.

Then the max load for SPC as there is no data for SPC II of 26 grains.

This is a 5-round group........we'll take it.

When we load for any rifle we make a target up that matches. Sometimes we include primer, COAL, brass.
With this rifle we have only one kind of brass and primer. The length is SAAMI for SPC I and the magazine won't allow longer.
