I picked up a Savage 220 20 guage, need to get some accutips. Is there enough benefit in shooting 3 inch or should I just stick with 2.75 inch? Where is a good place to buy? Thanks
My 220 shoots both very well. I can not tell much difference at reasonable distances. The ballistics is minimal imo with a slug gun.
The 2.75 is typically easier to find . Buy ammo in the off season. You can find decent deals.
I have two savage 220 slug guns. I shoot Federal 3 inch Trophy copper out of one and my son shoots Remington 2.75 Accutip out of the other. I believe after seeing the absolute tack driving accuracy of the 2.75 Remington and the results of the two bucks over 140 inches my son has killed with them. I am switching my other to the 2.75 shells. If you keep a check sometimes Academy will have them.
