I won myself one at a raffle at work a couple months ago and was just wondering if anyone hunts with one? What ammo you shooting? Scope? Open sights? I'm thinking of putting a compact rifle scope on it and shooting 240 grain xtps made by underwood ammo.

Go with a scope that can go down to very low magnification. I've got a Leupold VX Freedom 2-7 on my MZ and it rarely comes off 2x power. Love it.

I think Ruger recommended a 240 gr jacketed bullet.

2-7 scope would be perfect.

240gr rem jacketed soft point, and a Williams peep sight.

240gr XTP HP is the best thing I've seen on deer. It will do the same for hog/bear I'm sure. They are super nice rifles.

I use the 240 grain or 250 grain Winchester ammo. Either dual bond or Partition gold. Do not thing either is being made anymore. You definitely want to stick with a jacked bullet. Low power scope as mentioned above. Mine has the 4x fixed and it is a pain at times.

No it's a Automatic made in 68 according to the serial number.

Mine is a 68 model Deerfield semi carbine. I run a Leupold VX-2 3x9x40 on my gun, shooting Hornady 240 FTX. Fun little gun!!!

Excellent gun for thick woods. Both my elderly uncle's carried one when they would take me hunting when I was a kid. They still have them.
Tube feed? I believe that's what theirs were.

I would add the Hornady 225 gr. FTX, if that carbine likes it.

If going for a bear I might check into some hard cast ammo, very nice rifles, not sure why they stopped making them
