Ruger 44 carbine

Reason l asked, you said won in a raffle, so l figured a new gun. They havent been made for years. I have a mint auto, as well as a mint 96/44 lever. Fine guns. Kinda pricey now.
Yeah I looked them up. People are asking crazy prices for it! I've been offered $1200 at work from guys who were in the raffle. I'm more of if I sell it it's gone forever guy. I tend to hold on to my guns.
 
If going for a bear I might check into some hard cast ammo, very nice rifles, not sure why they stopped making them
Horribly complex, very expensive rifles to make. If Ruger was smart, they'd update/simplify the design and start up production again. Very handy little rifles.

My first one was stolen Christmas 1986. :( Here's my 2nd one:

A prob the 96/44 had, the lever, was the stock cracking around the neck of the stock due to recoil. The autos didnt have it. I guess due to locking pressure differences
