Ruger American Rimfire Target Rifles??

One guy shoots an American in one league I'm in, he has finished last in every match with that rifle. The other league a few have shown up but they never bring them back.


If you're looking for one to shoot, plink, have fun with they're great.

If you are looking to be competitive in matches I'd probably look at something else. Lots of the guys I shoot against have Rugers but they don't shoot them in matches.


I wish they did shoot because I'm a huge Ruger fan.
 
Both are showing "currently unavailable" on the website. Are they discontinued?

I know that it's not these specific models, but I had a Ruger American Rimfire stainless steel/synthetic several years back. It was ok. Probably had more tooling marks than any other gun I've owned. It was backyard plinking accurate, but not impressive in that regard. Function was rough as a corncob and really had to be broken in using some polishing compound. No pride of ownership in it at all. I sold it and decided that RARs were not for me.
 
These are the only Ruger rifles I've seen at our matches.
