Rumors of a Big SE TN Deer

It definitely was a great day for me this past Friday. You always dream of having an opportunity like this and luckily it all came together for me that morning. I was also lucky enough and very thankful to have my middle son with me to share the memories but more importantly help me haul him out. 17 points on one side and 12 on the other. Blessed day! God is goood!
Big congrats! I live just across the river from Hiwassee and have never hunted it. I can't imagine what I'd do if I saw a deer like that walking through the woods.

How har was the shot, and how far did it run?

Congrats on an awesome buck !!

I also used to have an account here years ago but I made it and then never used it and then forgot it existed 🤣

Either way, welcome back ! That's one heckuva buck

First saw him approaching at 40 yards and shot was 20 yards lol. Ran 50 yards and crashed. Definitely glad I didn't have to watch him forever and that it was over before I could over think it and shake all the leaves off the tree I was in. Thanks for all the congrats. Still hard to believe and waiting on all the numbers on him.

Just for the fun of it, I'm guessing 178. May be off by a lot but love to guess

Congrats! We all dream of seeing one like that coming through the woods, very few see that dream come true. Great job and unbelievable deer. Congrats again.

I mean... that doesn't look like a normal deer no matter what state you are in.
Yeah, I was just skeptical at first since so many pictures over the years have claimed to be "killed in TN", then later "killed in Ohio," then Illinois, then Iowa, etc. It's definitely an exceptional deer from anywhere, but its body size and shape look more midwestern cornfed than East TN, and actually hearing from someone local who is a member gives the story a lot more color and credibility. That thing's body is built like a freaking tank! Look at that neck! I'm guessing that it's just some kinda genetic freak.

I wouldn't have a clue where to start on how to score a non-typical like that! You might be close. I don't think the scoring system can take into account all the mass that rack has though. The Palmation on that one side is crazy!

Here's another good south east TN buck from this year you probably won't hear anything about. Grossed 177"

Where you on the Armstrong Ferry side or the Blythe Ferry side? I was on the Armstrong side. Congrats on a awesome buck!
