For the first time in 11 years my son and I won't be turkey hunting together on the juvy season.

Makes me pretty darn sad.

I was thinking about it yesterday as I was watching him up on the roof repairing a shingle for me that I am pretty darn lucky to have a son as good as him.

Sure miss the "Little Man" of years gone by though. :(

This is the first youth hunt I have sat in the house in a long time. My kid has another year, but gone on spring break.

Besides the LBL hunt in a couple of weeks this is the last Juvy hunt I get to take my son on. We had a nice longbeard within 30 yards this morning. I would have probably taken the shot - but he held off for him to take a couple more steps. He thought it was too much undergrowth between him and the bird. Had 6 jakes come to 20 yards and hang out for a while. I hope we can seal the deal in the morning. (Please let the rain hold off)!

Ruger just think one of these days a grandchild. They can be sent home when you are through playing with them, they are fun too.
