I'm certainly aggressive at times, but sprinting across the bottom would be fairly described as "stupid" in most situations. I'm not used to having a designated spot to get back to. If I was by myself, I obviously would have just picked a tree and worked the turkey on the ridge. I think calling from the top of the ridge worked just like I'd hoped. I don't know that he could have heard me calling from the bottom. But I should have immediately started back to the boys when I first thought I heard a gobble instead of letting him get that close. But once that mistake was made and he gobbled close, it was just a foot race. I had to get back across the bottom before he made it to the crest. Being patient or moving slow wasn't really an option at that point. I'll have to recalibrate a few things when hunting with kids.Awesome. You're right nothing like taking a kid. That move you made to the bottom was a great move. I've learned over the years the aggressive moves work for me. Congrats!
