The thread about muscle diving and the guys out toe digging for them reminded me of scallop hunting down in the Gulf. Several years ago when my son lived down in Ocala,FL he did a lot of salt water fishing and he got into the scallop gathering when the season opened. The wife and I went with him one time. Went several miles , I would say maybe 7 or so out from Crystal River area and then jumped out of the boat and start feeling for the scallops with your feet and toes. He was snorkeling and I was a doing the toe feeling.
It was like a big party out there. Boats everywhere. Music going. We got a few that day. He and his buddies had done pretty good a few times.I don't remember what the limit was then.
