So when/why did the fall turkey season change? Didn't it come in with the early deer season last year? I live in Indiana so I don't stay on top of the Tennessee hunting news, but I did just check online and noticed the fall season for turkeys didn't open until December this year. Isn't this a big change?

The biggest change in my unit is that it's no longer a quota hunt in December, meaning all hunters can now harvest a turkey with a shotgun vs. last year where we had to have a permit which weren't very plentiful.

You can still take a turkey during deer archery with a bow.

You can still take a turkey during the deer archery only season IF the county is open for a fall shotgun hunt. If the county is not listed on page 36 of the Hunting Guide it is not open to archery turkey hunting.

Since Hawkins County is listed with a fall gun hunt for turkeys, Hawkins County is open for turkey archery hunting during the entire archery-only deer season.

The archery bag limit is one turkey of either sex for all counties combined.

Thanks for the info. That is what I thought was the case, but when I looked for the regs. on line, I couldn't find the info about turkeys during early archery, only the fall gun in Dec. I was a little confused because I don't have the hard copy of the hunting guide.
