Absolutely ridiculous excuses! All you whiners could make wine with those sour grapes. Just don't drink it without wearing your tin foil hats or the paranoia will have you tripping worse than you already are. .

Whiners!?! Excuses!?! My team won its glorified exhibition game and will probably finish ranked in the top 4. I have nothing to whine about except all of our players with eligibility leaving for the NFL.

So Tennessee gets matched up with a team that is ranked like 10 spots ahead of them and it's a joke?? Who did they need to play?

UT was an 8-4 team, but the 10-2, 12th ranked team was a joke for them to play. Maybe they should have been paired with another 8-4 team to make it far :P
.
Don't be coming up in here with such strong points!!

SEC bowl schedule was weak overall.

#20 LSU 8-3 vs Texas Tech 7-5: This matchup was just an embarrassing joke.
Auburn 7-6 vs Memphis 9-3: It's hard to criticize this matchup since Auburn sucked during the regular season, but on paper they have way more talent.
Mississippi State 8-4 vs NC State 7-5: Another joke of a matchup. NC State beat nobody all year.
Texas A&M 8-4 vs Louisville 7-5: This was a pretty fair fight.
#2 Alabama 12-1 vs #3 Michigan State 12-1: Ohio State created this mess by losing to Michigan State.
#12 Ole Miss 10-2 vs #16 Oklahoma State 10-2: I called out Oklahoma State as a pretender early on. I knew this was a terrible matchup. Ole Miss should have played Michigan.
#23 Tennessee 8-4 vs #13 Northwestern 10-2: Northwestern was totally overrated but that's not Tennessee's fault.
#19 Florida 10-3 vs #14 Michigan 9-3: It's tough to comment on this matchup since I don't like Michigan or the SEC.
Georgia 9-3 vs Penn State 7-5: Georgia was #25 in the Coaches Poll. Penn State was terrible most of the year. Another lousy matchup that never should have happened.
Arkansas 7-5 vs Kansas State 6-6: Kansas State sucked this year and got beat 55-0 by Oklahoma. Arkansas' worst loss was to Alabama by 13 points. This was an absurd matchup.

Combined SEC: 87-35
Combined Opponents: 84-37

There should be an asterisk next to the 2015 SEC bowl record that notes the favorable matchups. In my opinion, this bowl record is about as legitimate as Alabama's claim to the 1973 national title.

it's still funny, what a quack :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Tainted bowl record, in my opinion..

LMAO @ your opinion!!! We know what that's worth!!

The great thing is that it's not just my opinion. A lot of people, including myself, are laughing at the SEC's weak bowl schedule. :rotf:

Here's a few Clemson guys that also aren't impressed with the tainted bowl record.

http://www.tigernet.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=18685647

First comment: After last year's disaster of SEC losses in bowl games, I feel the SEC teams chose weak teams instead of good match ups this year. Don't tell me they had no say in where they would play. They are the great SEC and can decide who they wish to play. Am I right or wrong? What I'm seeing is terrible bowl games, and no good match ups. Just MHO.

Second comment: Don't agree that they chose them but do agree that they were chosen for them. And yes they suck

Third comment: SEC matchups have been extremely favorable towards them. Obviously the fix was in after last year.

I don't understand all the crying.

Maybe teams should not be ranked 12th with a 10-2 record if they suck?? So bad Tennessee blows them outta the water.

How about the 10-2, 13th ranked cowboys. It's not the rebels fault they had the SAME RECORD AND Oklahoma st. WAS RANKED AHEAD OF THEM. But got beat down cause they could not keep up with ole miss.

The SEC put a stomping on most the teams put in front of them! It's not the SEC's fault or the teams fault there opponent could not keep up with them.

Like I said before switch the games anyway you want the sec still would have had a good bowl record and the same people would be crying the match ups were weak.

Look at it this way....with the exception of Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Northwestern, the SEC beat a bunch of nobody's and a Memphis team that lost their head coach. :rotf:

Who was it that 2-3 months ago was on this very forum yapping about how the Big 10 was now the strongest conference and the SEC was toast? . .And now the Big 10 is a bunch of nobody's... Can someone please refresh my memory? Don't worry..... I'll wait... :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

B10----------- :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Ain't Northwestern the same team that beat Stanford earlier this year? The team with the Heisman runner-up that broke Barry Sanders record? The same guy that didn't get but like 60 something total yards in that game?

Ain't that the same Stanford team that just smoked Iowa in the Rose Bowl? The same Iowa team that TN skull drug last year?

So TN would probably smoke Stanford then, right? That's how it works ain't it Vermin? SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC SEC

I like the Big Ten+4 only slightly more than the SEC, so I seriously doubt I ever said the Big Ten+4 was the strongest conference. They can't even count to 14.

Regardless, that has nothing to do with the SEC's bowl record not being taken seriously by many astute college football fans outside the SEC.

Apparently some of you guys failed to notice that I did not include the Northwestern game in my list of weak SEC bowl matchups. It's other members of your conference that played in matchups that were obviously designed to boost the SEC's declining image.

A good post from some random hockey fan that demonstrates what a lot of people think of the SEC bowl record...

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?p=111614559

SEC winning 8 isn't really anything super special, only been a few years since that's really been possible due to the inflation of bowl games. SEC tends to get good match-ups and quasi home games in bowls in their own backyard (they may as well have played the Sugar Bowl in Oxford).

When I say good match-ups, I mean that they tend to 'play down' as in each SEC team tends to face teams lower on the totem pole in their respective conference.
This tends to happen because they play so many bowls vs the Big Ten and Big Ten teams are probably the most popular picks for bowl committees due to their large and travel-enthusiastic fan bases. As a result it's fairly common for SEC #2 to play Big Ten #3, SEC #3 vs Big Ten #4 etc.

Take this year, where because of OSU going to the Fiesta, Big Ten #4 Michigan played SEC #3 Florida, Big Ten #5 Northwestern played SEC #4 Tennessee, then because Wisconsin went off to play USC out in California, Big Ten #7 Penn State was left to play SEC #5 Georgia.

The Big Ten tends to end up in really the toughest bowl match-ups because they ironically do too good a job securing attractive bowl tie-ins.

So what your saying is......the B10s best is not as good as the SECs best?

We already knew that. :stir:
