Sounds like there's a nifty neighbor dispute brewing so here's what I would do Get on the Facebook marketplace and find a cheap vehicle that has headers
Bring it home and take the mufflers off fire that dude up anytime you want between Dawn and dusk
Do that for about a week straight then maybe another week just for the hell of it
Also take the muffler off your lawn mower

I would build a huge fence in the shape of a middle finger and put that sucker up on your property line. Freedom of expression and for their safety

Couple rolls of hay behind your targets maybe.
Put target close to your house and shoot that way. If you don't feel that is safe, you have same thought they do!!

Yep, shoot toward your house. When I lived in a subdivision I would shoot my bow from the back bedroom into the target that was on the couch. Cost me a couch and some drywall repair. I don't blame your neighbor for calling the cops.

Build a big ugly backstop on your side of the property where they cannot reach it without trespassing. Paint it ugly and shoot often. I'm thinking about 4- 4x8 sheets of plywood standing on end.

His house is 80 yards away vs my house which would be 20. My point being that he hasn't had an issue with me shooting there for 3 years until he had a dispute with one of other neighbors. Now he's on a warpath against everyone in the neighborhood
