Shooting in backyard Laws and Regs

Well let's look at a few things here. I already shook the man's hand and told him I would no longer shoot archery in my yard. Now the neighbor in question has moved their lawn furniture that they never use directly in front of where my target used to be (because I am a responsible adult and respected their god awfully executed request. Then yesterday as his wife drives by my house she mocks my wife (who is on our front porch minding her own) then today proceeds to holler across her yard at us for no reason. 🤣 Look I know that shooting in these places is not technically safe ever but these folks weren't concerned about safety when they fired bottle rockets into my yard this morning, nor were they concerned about safety when there son was drag racing with all the young kids playing
Man I'm sorry you're dealing with all that. If you're staying, it's time to start recording their nonsense. Security cameras at the least

So I guess you may have yugoty neighbors, but does that solve the problem about being able to shoot in your backyard? So my question remains, are there a reason why you cannot use your house as a backdrop? To me that will possibly solve your problem.

Well that's a damn shame
I used to shoot guns in my yard now there's all sorts of d******* all over the place so now I have to go to the gun range
Whatever you do hopefully you figure it out and don't have to make a drastic move

I do see your point, and although I know the real reason he made the request was to get under my skin, but after using my head I have decided that I just am in the wrong spot to shoot archery in any direction in my yard. But to answer your question, no I will not launch an arrow towards my own house which would be within 25 yards vs his backyard that is 80 yards. I'm just simply saying that it would do more damage at 25 vs 80.

Hate you're dealing with that. As you said and obviously he didn't have an issue before. That meant you were safe about it and he trusted you to be shooting. Meaning if him or someone was in his yard you wouldn't have even thought about going out and shooting.

Sounds like it's bigger (as you stated) then just shooting now as they are doing stuff. Get cameras, video if you have to and best of luck with it all.

Sounds like you want to get out of the neighborhood at some point. I hope you get to when the timing is right for y'all.

Thank you. And yes I told my wife today we will just focus on minding our own and getting ready for greener pastures. Pun intended lol

Before we moved out of town, we had a little over an acre lot. The house next door was vacant and had groundhogs. I shot one with my bow one day. The arrow passed thru it, skipped and ended up 80 yards away in a privacy fence. That was the last for me.

At the same property, I set my practice target in my garage and fired from the driveway. Nothing anybody could say.

If you're sure you will always hit your target, put it and a section of privacy fence behind it near your house and fire from the property line.

I have just decided that I made a poor purchase on my homes location and have decided to stop shooting in my yard altogether to cover my own rear end. I don't trust those people not one bit now. I do however have another neighbor who's property doesn't have anything but woods behind it. He has instructed me to shoot his target anytime at anyday I want. Sucks that it has come to that, but I have to do what's right, even though others won't. This is where it pays to have good friends close by.

Plant hedges along the back property line ( privacy screen) and use a tree stand or platform to shoot from at a downward angle…

This is coming from a Guy who once put a 2018 shaft thru the side of a 14' x 70' single wide…..🥴

Stuff happens..🤣👍

I moved to town when I was 20 years old, it didn't take long for Sumner Co and Gallatin PD to make a point out of the fact that city life was not for me. Shooting a bow in the yard wouldn't even have made the top 25 complaints,, I was back to living in the stix by the time I was 21. Lol

Unfortunately for me rn I don't have that option. As soon as the opportunity comes though I'm living back out in the country
