It seems some of you are gettin' revved up for turkeys. So, I thought I'd ask a question. A lot of hunters talk about their longest shot on a bird but, most never talk about their shortest. Mine has got to be, one at about 12 yards.

2 years ago my 4th bird was 5-6 yards max. It was a rush.
I moved to a tree and left my backpack at the base of the tree he walked by when I killed him. I got it on video.

Deer don't give me the shakes, but a darn turkey can turn me to jello.
5 or 6 yards? I wouldn't be able to walk back to the truck.

Two times at about 10-15 yards. Not near as close as some of yall stated.
Sometimes you can't help how close or far they are, but I honestly like mine at about 30-35 yards.

Great Video. I'm also a David Halloran guy. My go to call is the Twisted Sister pot call with a dymondwood striker. Deadly

The TS is probably my favorite pot call I've got 5 of his pots and they're all killers.

Yea it's hard for me not to buy his new pot calls. His box calls with the heavy handles practically run themselves.

Shot several under 10 yards. I prefer around 30. Closest was 6 feet. Aimed a fuzz low to keep from missing and ended blowing most of his beard off

Have you ever tried to fan one in. They can get close if you let em. DON'T try it on public land. I missed in the 2016 season by fanning because I didn't see him until he was about 3 yards away in the talk grass. And I was shooting with one hand on the gun, and the other hand was holding the tail fan. I went back that evening and got on the same bird and fanned him in again but didn't miss that time.
