A lot better powders than 4198.. Very Nice Deer. I run 123 ELD M with IMR 8208 XBR and it does a very good job.

I took the Easy Shot behind the shoulder, exit wound was very small no blood on either side. Three tiny droplets of blood total in 75 yards.

I would expect that you find portions of the bullet in the deer and a fragment is what exited.

It's funny how opinions change. I like the rapid expansion of the BT more than an accubond. I personally would go in a different direction than a nosler bullet

My freezer is full of deer killed the nosler bullets.

I recommend the op kill another deer with his load and see if he gets different results. Bullet for strange things sometimes due to a multitude of factors. Deer are not a consistent medium

Barnes bullets are great but for deer light for caliber bullets are best. And better if pushed fast as possible

Congratulations on a great buck! Sometimes a chunk of lung or meat can plug the entrance or exit hole and trap all the blood inside the deer. But ballistic tips seem to blow up when they hit a deers rib. I shot a buck once with a 300 win mag at 70 yards broadside in a field. When I found him there were 3 exit holes. Found pieces of bullet fragments in the back straps behind the diaphragm. I quit shooting Hornady ballistic tips for this very reason. The ole nosler solid base or something similar is a way better choice in bullets for deer.

I didn't say they're bad, just that I'd use something different. I think the NBT is a great bullet, but nosler has lost their minds in the last few years with their pricing. And yes, sps has seconds and they're still expensive.
