New to bow hunting.

My thoughts of siting in: Site in bow with field tips and then fine tune with broadheads to make sure there is no change in flight.

DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT?

THX~

Think of a bow as a rifle. Set the bow up properly "TUNED". Once you are shooting with tuned arrow flight with consistency. Move sites just like moving the crosshairs on your riflescope. I personally shoot broadheads yr round.

How many targets do you go through?

My broadheads (G5 Striker) shoot just like my field points. So I shoot field points 90% of the time. I usually finish my practices with 2-3 broadhead shots to confirm they're right on.

I've had a McKenzie Large Alert for bout ten yrs now. I'll replace the midsection every couple yrs. But I don't shoot as much as I use to. With todays bows there is really no need. Gets kinda boring taking the X Force out back and hitting the same 1" circle time and time again out to 25 yds. Chit hang the sungun up and get ready to shoot meat...

Group tune with broadheads and field points . If you need to make changes in centershot after tuning , then sight in . A bow that is properly tuned with good flying broadheads and correctly spined arrows shouldn't need pin adjustment between field points and broadheads .
