Slate vs. Glass

Totally depends on the bird and the set up. If its early morning I like to go with the glass, the slate can get dew on it right at daybreak and can cause some issues. But when it comes to calling in a call shy bird, or just sealing the deal with some soft calling, the slate is hard to beat.
