Slick Tricks?

I know Radar really liked them but my choice would be Montec G5's. The montec's are the toughest blade you will find.....and they fly really well.

I quit using expandables a few years back due to most outfitters I've hunted with won't let you use them.

Just made a post bout the montec g5 and they are my new favorite. They fly straight and hit hard. They are 100% stainless steel and they are one solid piece of kick arse!

I tried Montecs for a while and they were accurate, but hit a good bit lower than my field points. Slick Tricks hit the same spot as the field points so I don't have to re-adjust the sights for hunting.

Slick Tricks fly better than any fixed blade head I've ever shot. I was getting 6" groups at 100 yds out of my bow setup. To me that is pretty awesome. I liked the regular Tricks over the Magnums. I popped a doe at 68 yds in an open field and got a complete pass thru on her. The only thing I really didn't like about them, is they don't hold up very well with hard impacts in the ground. The blades will be wrecked very easily. Of course you can always buy replacements, but that's only good if the tips of the broadhead hold up. In my testing, that didn't go over really good. They are a great flying broadhead and pretty sharp for an out of pack broadhead, but they aren't the toughest head out there.

Never shot the Montecs but I hear they are razor sharp and hold up very well.

Slick Tricks and G5 Strikers are both good heads . I give the nod to Strikers for sharpness .

Ditto!!!! Plus the Strikers are made of steel and fly like field points.
Double ditto! I have however just purchased some of the new Slick Tricks called GrizzTricks. Have not shot them yet but they do look stronger and more durable than the regular Tricks. They are also 1 1/4 cutting diameter where the regulars are 1 1/8. They also cost $4 more for a 3 pack over the regular Tricks. That makes the regular Tricks $12 cheaper and the GrizzTricks $8 than Strikers.

With the Strikers you can replace only 1 blade if you choose. On the Tricks they are 2 different double blades and would not work out as well. With the better durability and better arrangement for replacement, the extra cost can be made up rather quickly with the Strikers.

I have also tried the Bass Pro Blackouts which are cheaper than the Strikers but still made by G5. I did not like them as well as the Strikers. 1/8 smaller cutting diameter plus the blades on 2 of the 3 heads would not tighten up and stayed loose. The Strikers were perfect!

I have 3-Rage & 1-Slick Trick in my quiver.... I love the Rage but I carry the Slick Trick as a "Just in case"

I shot a buck a little high last year with a Rage...He fell and kicked around a bit...He held his head up and acted like he was going to stand....I finished him off with a Slick Trick...Dont know why, I just chose the slick trick for thew follow up...Maybe cost has something to do with it...
