I think the players should have been instructed to go down short of the endzone when Alabama scored the last touchdown with 1:54 on the clock. USC had no timeouts and this was the first play after the 2-minute timeout. I know weird things could happen, but I think Alabama's odds of winning were better when up by one-point and only needing to take two snaps to run out the clock. There was a lot that took place during that last 1:54 that gave USC big chances to win.
