Spartan Cameras

You running straight video? If so, try running pic+video. It will send pics of every trigger, then you can request a video of whichever trigger interests you. That'll help tremendously on battery life.
I do this exact thing and no, it does not help on battery life IMO!

The Spartan Go Cams can be had for $148 right now. I've got several and the battery life is outstanding with lithium batteries. If you're running alkaline batteries in any trail cam, you're wasting money.
Yea, umm NO! $2 a battery for one lithium AA battery, no thanks good SIR!!! EFF THAT!!!!!

Bought three in december, they are trash in regards to quality, the quality cams from spartan are the "go live" cameras, very well made, but very $$$ to run!

What camera do you run?

Do you have any set to video or just photos? I'm just curious what your battery life is.

I personally run six of these cameras are all cell cameras, and boy. Do I chew through battery life when I switch it to video mode and I only do the 10 second videos on a 60 minute trigger interval
Spartan GoCam ATT 4G LTE (Model GC-A4GB2), only pics in burst mode for me, have not done any videos. Energizer lithiums generally last me a year or so, so batteries have not been an issue for me. In the fall, I'm strictly looking for mature bucks that I think will gross north of 130", so 99% of all pics I get are glanced over and basically forgotten. I still look at most of the photos in the app, but only focus on gobblers or a mature bucks, which are not the norm throughout the year. My .02

You have to factor in your distance to cameras, drive time, walk time in the woods, fuel cost, etc to change out batteries when comparing the true cost of alkaline to lithium. Majority of my cams are 1-2 hours away from me, so energizer lithiums pay for themselves in spades when I factor in all of the things above. YMMV

Like others, my experience has been just the opposite.

As for the lithium batteries, they're expensive, but I can expect all my cams to last for months, even all year in some cases. For me, worth every penny. For you? Maybe not.

Depends how deep your pockets are!!!!

Andy, what is the secret to getting the lithium AA to last a year, that is AMAZING. holy crap

Which model/cell carrier? For sale?
I bought 3 of these: "Spartan Gocam 4G LTE Trailcams"

They are CHEAP quality compared to the $300 Golive cameras; I have both, I run 7 go live cameras and now have 3 gocams....the other issue with Spartan is I am now maxed out at how many cameras I can run on the app, it only allows 10 cameras per user on the app....sucks.

I went the gocam route because I could not justify spending $300 per camera anymore, I regret my decision due to the quality of the cameras, they are not even in the woods yet, they limit the SD card to 32 GB so I had to wait/waiting since I cannot run the higher SD cards, do not buy the Gocams from Spartan if you go with Spartan. pony up and go with the GOLIVE versions of any camera they offer.

Photos only, average deer density, minimal salt lick exposure (repeated photos to take/send), and adjust camera settings when needed to minimize repeated useless photos (50 photos of same doe on old salt lick, etc).

I know my tactacams have been good to me. Browning regular cameras outstanding cell camera just ok. Garde pros are glitchy. But between spypoints, Moultries and bushnells what I've spent on them I could have already bought a lot of them and had them last more then a season. Especially spypoints Moultries and bushnells they absolutely were a waste of money.

I also going to use wise eyes as well.

Black gates interest me as well but the reviews are a little concerning.

To me it's worth spending the money on good cameras instead of trying to get 1 or 2 cameras out of 4 or 5 to work right.

My best cameras even though I HATE them, but best in terms of battery life and ease of use: The non cellular SPYPOINT cameras, bought two of them in FALL 2021, both have a built in solar panel, each camera was $80 or so; and each camera is STILL running on the solar/ AA that have been in them since Spring of 2022; truthfully I should maybe change out the AAs due to the fact they may corrode; it has been THAT LONG!!! In fact, the camera is not even available, their redesign is very different from the cameras I have from them; I am shocked how low maintenance they are; only CON is they are not cellular and honestly, I am ok with that at this point, these cell cams are getting out of control price wise.
