I have a makeshift anchor.
It's actually three of the connectors that attach bobtruck trailers together.
I'm too old to be hauling them up all day anymore.
I have a 16' V bottom bass tracker.
What is the best anchor for me?
Rather not spend a crap ton of money.

Depends on water depth and bottom composition and current or wind.
Soft mud, you can probably get away with a mushroom anchor.
Hard sandy bottom you need a fluke style anchor
Rocky bottom you need a rock style anchor. (grapple) I made one out of 3/8 rebar. IF it gets stuck I can pull hard enough to bend the tines and get it free.
Deeper water you need more line (scope) and more weight. Thats why a lot of anchors are sold with a 3' (or longer) piece of chain.

That chain, and the bigger the better is key on sand/ muddy bottom. I have about 3 feet BTW. Spot lock is great!
