As a follow up to the other quota hunt post, and seeing as the application period will begin next week. Who is putting in for what? I will be putting in for Yuchi

I've got to check into it and see what's available within a reasonable drive from here.

I want to know the odds first, not sure if we will know that though. App period ends 1/18 in TN, GA ends 2/15. I have good odds in GA. The only TN hunt I would want is Chuck Swan first hunt because it's outside of the regular TN season. Problem is, the GA hunt I want is also that weekend. It should be warmer in South GA than Chuck Swan. Maybe I would know if I got Chuck Swan before the GA period ends perhaps. GA has som hunts that approach or exceed 20% success, I'm guessing that's better than Chuck Swan but I don't know.

If I remember correctly they started that last year with happy hollow. I'd be curious to hear how it turned out with that many hunters. Anyone draw it last year and go?

Never mind lol
yeah I look at turkey hunts around the country and have never heard of anything like it. It's like they get a new property so they want to wipe it out first.

Last year, I thought this may have been a mistake. I guess TWRA just wants to wait until someone shoots someone else to change it. Talk about a miserable hunting experience.

Chuck Swan, 1 hunter/163 acres
Oak Ridge, 1 hunter/164 acres
Yuchi, 1 hunter/236 acres
Happy Hollow, 1 hunter/36 acres

To answer the original posters question, yes, I'll be putting in for Oak Ridge. I mainly want the days to scout for next years deer season.

The really good badged only areas were removed from the Oak Ridge turkey hunts last year. I'm checking into why that was done and if those will come back. I won't apply unless I can get in those areas.
