I saw a discussion on another forum about the weight increases of Bass on Lake Chickamauga. It got me curious and I did some research. I have records of the tournament winning weights for a 3 fish tournament I have run for the past 9 years. I compared a similar period in time in 2010 to the winning weights in 2016. The results were very encouraging.

Three fish limit:

2010:
Average winning late summer weight 10.41 pounds.
Average biggest fish weighed 5.19 lbs

2016
Average winning late summer weight 14.77 pounds.
Average biggest fish weighed 7.45 lbs

This represents a 29% increase in winning weights and a 30% increase in average biggest bass weighed.

Electronics possibly impacted it some. Possibly even some of the fisherman have improved their skills. I think the biggest factor is the Florida Strain Bass introduced in 2003 and 2005 have interbred with natives and are producing much larger off-spring.
