Stepping on the head?

Nitro H517 and a Rhino choke and they are 9 times out of 10 dead before they hit the ground.
That's what I'm talkin'bout. I don't shoot Nitros but the vast majority hit the ground like an anvil fell on their neck.

LMBO! Ive never seen so many pansies before in my life! I grab em by the neck. Once I get my hand around that neck, hes dead. end of story. Ive NEVER been spurred doing it this way either. He may try to walk up your body, but he aint going to spur you. Apparently yall are too far removed from the days of watching grandma wring a chickens neck!

I've got a nice scar on my stomach from doing what you describe.

Maybe you've never been spurred because your birds don't have big enough hooks to do damage :o ;) :D

It goes without saying, but that was a joke so don't flip out

LOL No worries here man! Im not gonna flip out, get upset, throw a tantrum, none of that! :D I know what works for me and until I need sewing back up, thats all that matters!

If they are still alert, I'll step on the head. Or if they're flopping and I'm really anxious to see the spurs I will step on his head just so I can hold him still enough to grab a foot and look at his legs.

If the situation calls for it, I'll stomp one's head or grab a stick. I'm not big on reaching for the legs until hes completely relaxed. Im not worried about the beak, but those spurs don't discriminate.

I like to pick them up by the neck, choke the piss out of them, look them right in the eyes as they fade away. Once I have them by the neck it is over.

I've never been a boot on the head kinda guy either. I guess I always thought it was like a tradition with some guys. I just shoot, gather my stuff and make my way to the bird.

Whats the hurry to choke them out or crush their brain?

I just let mine flop out. Eyes open=step on head. Eyes closed=let them get finished flopping until their feathers go down and stop quivering.

I have not killed a bunch of birds so I'm in no way an expert on how these things react.

However, I've had one try to get away, I've been spurred, and just this year when doubling up my bird was dead but a friends bird stood up about 5 feet away from me. needless to say there was a fight and I won.

I'll step on the neck just to make sure they are finished.

And my big butt standing on a neck will finish one out I promise.

I don't step on the heads !! IMO it's not right to the birds to do that. I will pick them up by the feet and hold them tight with one foot in each hand !! Yes I have lots of scars on my hands but it's just how I handle them. I have a nice new one from this year that is still not all the way healed !! But the way I look at it every scar on both my hands hold great memories.

Don't step on the head step on the neck don't stomp just stand on him what your doing is suffocating him if hes not already dead put all your weight on him and stand there till hes gone a lot safers than choking him or grabbing him by his legs!

You're not suffocating a turkey with your foot. That's basically impossible
You put 300 pounds on my neck and I will suffocate!

LOL Oh come on now Brandon! You and I aint ever killed a turkey, let alone know what to do when we finally do shoot one! :D Ive always said the exact same thing: once I get a hand around its neck, its OVER.

I stopped grabbing them by the legs and or stomping, stepping or stretching years ago.

Shoot, approach the bird, grab him by the neck, and hold your arm out 90* till he expires and the life leaves him. I though the guy telling me this was a loon, till I tried it. You get way less kicking, trashing, wing beating and you never get spured. Every now and then you will get one that will get his toes up to your hand, but he cant pry you off unless your a candy-man. LOL

This is what i do....nobody told me to do it this way its just how i naturally did it except when i pick it up ill pop it like you would a dove

So You think it's not right to the birds to step on thier head , you think they mind getting deceived, then shot in the face? Good stuff!

If you ring the neck you better keep it quiet. You will catch a cruelty to animal charge. I know someone who had a similar experience and got charged with it. They told him it was no different that fighting dogs, shooting dogs, fighting chickens or anything of that nature.
