Striper enthusiasts

The ones we've been targeting are above 61 bridge a few miles, below peach orchard a couple of miles, and below the interstate.

You can run almost any sized boat up the river when it's generating, when it's off it isn't worth the effort to chase the stripers.

We whacked the poop out of them this weekend, and luckily took a bunch out of the river where they won't ever have the chance to kill trout again. Biggest fish was 47lbs, and most everyone was over 30 lbs.

Normally I am 100% catch and release no matter what I'm after, but there's nothing more satisfying than beating a stripers skull in and throwing it into the cooler.
Did you check the striper to see if they had any trout in them? They were so thick up there last year, you could have shot them with a bow while drifting down river.

You can take most any size boat up to the 61 bridge even with no generation going on. Now past the bridge you need water generating to take a very big boat on up the river. The Stripers really stack up in the mouth of Heinz creek as well.

Yeah, that is a little striper, I hope you throwed him back.

Man I am jealous that beats the one I caught by huge margin. Nice fish.

I'm going to post a map tomorrow of the exact locations on the river where these things are concentrated. That way it'll be easier for everyone to get a good shot and not waste time where they aren't as thick.

Between 4 of us we caught our limit yesterday, the smallest being 36 lbs and the largest tipping the scale at 53 lbs.

It seems logical for TWRA to stop stocking these fish in a trout stream, but then again not all of us see the world the same way. Funds are limited for trout stocking, so let's pour one of the most efficient predatory fish in with them. Makes sense....right?

Kill em all.

Looking forward to seeing the map. I've fished strippers below Melton Hill w/ great success but never on the Clinch. I'm in and have boat & tackle if someone knows where to go and how to do it.

We did see a guy running a nice plainer board setup below Peach Orchard on Tues. Anyone heading that way in the next few days, let me know and we can meet up.
