I ran my first Tactacam cell camera with no issues last year and the batteries easily got me through a whole season. This year bought another. However, the first camera ran through a set of batteries (duracell's) in about a month. I replaced them with another set (different batch of batteries), moved the camera, and they lasted about a month. Meanwhile, the new camera is running on a set of batteries from the same batch and is still at 100 percent.

Cell service is fine in the area and the amount of pics isn't high. Anyone had this type of issue? Anything to try?

A month sounds about right for regular alkaline batteries. I run lithiums in all of mine but still have a couple of cameras that used 2 sets a year which gets expensive.

Back a few months ago, I bought 3 of the rechargeable battery packs to rotate through two cameras close to home that are easily accessible. It's worked good so far.

I'm on my third Tactacam after having the very same issue with the first two. My solution was to box the bad one up and return to Walmart.

I've had issues with using high powered rechargeables in them after the rechargeables became weak. I put some new lithiums in them and it got them working again.

Had 2 tactacam out for more than 6 months on regular batteries in low traffic areas .

Have had a couple that ate batteries like that . One needed firmware update and the other one was fried.
Had one that if the batteries were left in the cam was going to catch fire from some type short. All that being said Had better luck with tactacam than other brands .

Have had zero luck getting the firmware to update. No matter what I try, get a flashing red status light.
Current Firmware is: 5MR4Cwc203

Guess I'll try the solar panel next.

That's what I'm using. It's just strange that one camera works fine and the rest the other doesn't.
I thought I had an issue with a couple of my moultrie cameras several years ago Had two that went to firing pics nonstop, batteries went dead a couple days after putting them out with brand new duracells. I hadn't ever had that kind of issue with either of those cameras before and didn't know for sure what caused it. I normally ran energizers but didn't think much of it. Changed batteries in one with the remaining duracells from that pack and put energizers in the other. The camera with the energizers worked fine after, but the camera with the duracells took pics nonstop again until the batteries were pretty well dead. Put energizers in that camera and it worked fine. Still running both of those cameras now but always use energizers.

I don't know what it was with the duracells that caused those cameras to have constant false triggers, but there is no doubt in my mind that those batteries were the issue.

So I pulled the camera and changed the batteries. They are already starting to fade. Cam #1 has been out less than a week. Cam# 2 has been out since October. Batteries are from the same pack. I think when I pull it this time I'm going to contact Tactacam.

I've got 6 tactacams. No problem with battery life. I'd call tactacam. They have been great when I dealt with them.
I've been communicating with them. They've recommended not using duracell but couldn't explain why one camera would work with them and the other wouldn't. They also would like me to swap the battery tray between the 2 cameras. I'll give this a try, but not sure what they would have recommended had I only had one camera.

Sounds like they are troubleshooting, seeing if they can figure out the problem. I had one camera that wouldn't connect to cell signal, called and they got me straightened out. Had another one that somehow i accidentally broke the antenna when I was first setting it up. It was a weekend, so i messaged them. They got back to me on Monday and mailed me a new antenna...no charge. Both folks I dealt with spoke/typed perfect English and were very helpful and knowledgeable. Good luck

They were very responsive. But I'll have to make a trip to the club to retrieve the other camera, and this weather is gonna put a delay on that.
