Tactacam Reveal???

I have had mine out for a month and it has been flawless in operation. I am getting pictures everyday and night and the bucks are starting to get their new sets of antlers now. I'll definitely buy a couple more when I can find them.

They released a new model yesterday and sold all 60,000 within just an hour or two.
I'm not surprised as Tactacam has certainly brought a new level of competition to the cell cam business, particularly at the point of initial purchase.

Wonder if their newest model will allow for connecting via a laptop computer (like most other cell cams) or via only a smart phone? Not being able to connect via my computers is my single biggest complaint with the Tactacams.

As said in a previous post, what we're witnessing in the cell cam marketplace is the free enterprise system at work. Their competing against each other for our business is what guarantees us the best values possible.

Some are getting our attention with a lower initial price, some with lower ongoing monthly fees, some with better features, greater reliability, better battery life, and/or just better value over time.

It's nice to have choices, and the freedom to make them.

My Tactacam Reveal (Gen 1) has been operating perfectly since deployed last July. It operated great during the near zero temps we had in February too. I saw where the 60k new Reveal-X units were gobbled up by some of the 140k users online first thing Saturday morning. The Reveal-X units can still be ordered from various outdoor stores in the North and Midwest.

I ordered one this morning online. $126 delivered
What are the "improvements" or "upgrades" of the new model? :)

SUPER high-quality pics!
The Generation 1 Tactacams certainly do provide excellent imagery!

But, I believe one thing they're doing differently is automatically "uploading" higher resolution pics at the expense of battery life. Some other cell cams automatically upload lower resolution pics (than are taken). With some others, you either specifically request the server to send you a higher resolution particular pic, or, just wait until you pull the card where it's "residing".

When I pull the SD cards, I'm not seeing that much difference between the Tactacams and some other makes, albeit it's challenging for me to compare apples-to-apples, as I'm constantly changing resolution settings on all (remotely).

To help conserve battery life, I often like to reduce image resolution at night.

Actually begin most mornings now looking at cell cam images, changing settings, then ending the day doing it again.

The camera does not have a view screen and your smart phone is the screen allowing you to adjust the camera along with some other stuff.

I guess I should have read the fine print when I "ordered" mine:rolleyes:

I pre-ordered one from Raised Outdoors. Should be here sometime later this month.🤷‍♂️

Its not like I needed it right now anyway.

Thanks, that's by far the best deal that I can find on them right now. Just picked up a few

I owned one tacacam and traded if for a spypoint micro. I liked my Tacacam but the red flash was SUPER BRIGHT! the daylight pic were very grainy when you zoom in and I thought the spypoint micro's pic were better however the micro's are finicky! You have to have the correct power, sd card, and firmware or it will not work.
