I don't think it's just Marcus. The receivers could be better

he is the only weapon they have, and he is a rookie...and now an injured rookie. with mediocre receivers and terrible running backs...gonna be a long year. he will be great, if he survives

Winston seems to be growing into his role:No other player has won the Rookie of the Week award twice this season; Winston was named the winner in Week 2 after leading Tampa Bay past New Orleans. The Bucs have claimed the Rookie of the Week award three times in five weeks, with Winston winning twice and linebacker Kwon Alexander winning in Week 3.

A friend went to the Bucs Falcons game last weekend with the father of a Bucs player. They were able to get into the family area before the game and he talked to Winston and Winston posed with my buddy's kid for a picture. Said he was just a great guy, very talkative and was happy to take the picture. JW said some encouraging things to his kid who recently quit playing football and of course then went out and beat the Falcons. My buddy is a former Georgia resident, lifelong Falcons and Bulldogs fan and has always given me crap about Winston's shenanigans while at FSU. He says he's a fan and will be watching him play every chance he gets going forward. People are finding out what we have known for a while. Feels good.

no doubt that the bucs are doing better than the titans, but we knew they were a better team. Mariota being out for 2.5 games and may miss another, in addition to losing his coach and mentor has to be tough. Especially when it was revealed that the main reason that whiz was fired was due to not protecting him and allowing him to come back in the game crippled due to a dirty hit (something mariota pleaded for). of course even missing two plus game, mariota still has a higher qb rating, completion percentage and less ints while averaging more yards per game. I will admit that winstons situation is better. good running game and 2 great receivers and a decent o line. my biggest fear with mariota is they make him do too much. he has the 3rd highest percentage of total yards for his team in the league. That is away too much for a qb that has started 5 games. There is also a fear that they may keep him on the bench and just let whitehurst and mettenberger guarantee them the 1st pick next year. However, in such a terrible division they are only 1.5 games out. But mariota is now the franchise and they must put him back on the field, healthy or not IMO. a herd of no name rb's, patchwork oline, and the worst receiving corps in the league...its not going to be easy. but he has shown his potential is limitless and hopefully this new coach take the gloves off and call some decent plays. or we could just go ahead and get Chip Kelly and renew the greatest show on turf

on a side note...we knew winston was a good talker and always nice when the cameras are rollin....well except security cameras.
