Tank gets a ride in the truck!! Update: TWRA aged at 3.5

Heck of a buck sir! Big congratulations!!

Do you have any past history with him? Any past trail cam pics that would have indicated his age based on photos?
We don't have any pictures from the previous years. We get so many pictures I typically only keep shooters or bucks with high potential.

Congratulations!! And its my understanding that there are variables which can effect tooth wear such as type of food, etc. From the trail cam pics, looking at his body conformation, he would appear to be 4½ or older...great buck!
I totally agree DoubleRidge and thank you!

Great buck! Congrats! Ironically I had a stud like that I hunted for 2+ yrs that we called Tank as well. Haven't seen him for the past 2 or 3 yrs so I presume someone got him, old age or something else got him, or his entire home range charged for some odd reason. The Tank I hunted was 4 1/2 when I finally named him. He made a big jump between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2, hence his name, but he stayed that way at 5 1/2. Never have seen him since to know if he blew up again or not. Heck, if you are in Bedford County maybe you just got him 🤣.

Hahahah. He could have hitched a ride up I-24 to Montgomery County.

Jaw bone teeth from Tank. The back molars are pretty sharp. The lack of wear is what caused the estimated age of 3.5 from TWRA. My thought is this would be heavily influenced by diet type. 🤷🏾‍♂️

The "biologists" always seem to screw up the age. At least for KY anyways. They aged my dads 142'' 8 pt at 2.5 a couple years ago. I had 3 years worth of pics so the math didn't math. It was either 4.5 or 5.5. Every single deer they aged when I was at the CWD check station this year was 2.5. They'd stick a finger in and yell out 2.5. I probably watched them do that to 10 bucks just while I was there.
