Not much to this story really..... I heard two birds on the limb gobble one time. Made one series of yelps and 10 minutes later he dead! They strutted up the hill right to the gun barrel spitting and drumming. Awesome hunt to start the year off. 18#, 1" sharp spurs, and a 9.5" beard. Going after his buddy in the rain in the morning I believe.

Oh yeah, we have slayed them so far. I have several more days here in camp in alabama and then it is on to tn for the opener. I'll try to get everything sorted out and posted for everyone when I get home.

Finally starting to get into them good at my land. Got close again today but had some guy come in on me and start a forest fire with a box call. Then he would yell and holler then 2 minutes pass and back with the box call.
I don't understand why anyone would do such things. At the point he did this I had gotten into a small wood lot in the middle of a cutover and had birds gobbling on three sides of me.
Thanks BC for coming to hunt with me yesterday and helping with the pictures. It was fun and hope we can do it again before the season is over.

Yekrut, wareagle22, and mmusso have birds on the ground but have not entered their pics as of yet. I have not heard from Demp17 yet but it won't be long for him to have one flopping. The other guys are culling before they enter theirs.
I have to quit letting my sons pull the trigger long enough so I can cull mine as well.

I know Musso and Stony have both killed multiple birds so I reckon that just leaves me dragging the team down! I haven't been able to go much due to my 3 year old playing rookie tball and my place being fairly void of birds this year. I am hoping to get up to my Tennessee place maybe next weekend but even that aint looking to promising. Congrats on the spinning of the beaks!
