Just saw this on the Mathews board. Very surprised because I thought the Bear/Primos partnership was pretty solid. Economy, I guess.

"Thanks for your email. It is true that as of June 29, 2009 the Bear/Primos Licensing Agreement was canceled. It was a mutual decision to end the agreement. Since then we have been working to fill the sponsorship hole that opened. We are happy to announce that starting January 2010 Mathews has decided to sponsor both Primos TRUTH About Hunting and Primos TRUTH About Whitetails on the Outdoor Channel. We are very excited about this new opportunity.

Thanks again and good luck this season.

Agreed. I think they have one of the best.

I agree. I think Primos makes some of the best bowhunting videos out there. You can tell those guys really enjoy bowhunting, especially Brad Farris. Just think how much better they will be now that they're shooting the best bow made. J/K.
By the way, there is a new show called Factory to Field. In one episode, they went to the Bear factory and followed a Truth 2 from raw materials to finished bow. Pretty neat. If I worked in one of those places, I would be like the Johnny Cash song, "One Piece At a Time."

I like the Primos guys better than any of the others out there. But my gosh they are some bow company pimp daddies. LOL. I wonder if they'll just shoot the stock Mathews bows or if they'll have a special one named The Truth or something.

I remember one year that they must not have had a sponsor and all of them just shot different bows. Most of them then had BowTech bows. I always figured if they left Bear that BowTech would have been where they went, but I guess Mathews offered them more dough. Kinda like the "Duck Commander" when he left Browning to go with Benelli. He will tell you in person that the Benellis ain't no where near the gun those Brownings were, but Benelli pays him more to shoot the gun.

I think it's all about the endorsement money too , Crow . Mathews pays more for endorsements and sponsorships than any other bow company . They sure have a good marketing program , they also make a good bow as well .

I seriously doubt that Mathews will name a bow specifically for the primos guys.Mathews doesn't do this for anyone else, so I don't forsee them starting it now.

I shot the truth last year and had trouble out of it all year with the string a cam got it off the internet was the first mistake. But regardless i like primos shows so i will be tuned in!

Glad to see they have done well enough to finally afford a GOOD bow. :D

hee heeeeeeeeeee

sorry, couldn't help myself. :D

Something you need to understand. It makes no difference about the quality of the product. It is all about promotional budgeting. Last week I lost my Ford sponsorship due to budget reductions. I am now talking with Toyota.

A sponsorship is totally about income and exposure. IF Will could get a good deal with Sham Wow he would take it. So would I. To us, it just income. When a hole opens, you fill it. I have no idea what Will' price tag is but I would guess around $65,000. In today's economy, you talk to anyone with a checkbook.

maybe for some people. I NEVER endorsed a drum product because of money or free gear.

And companies are going to maximize their marketing budget by hiring the big names in the business . I don't see too many of the smaller names knocking down big money in sponsorships deals with major companies .
