Wow! I haven't checked cams in two weeks, but I haven't been able to buy deer pictures on food plots. They've been completely ignoring them because of the massive acorn crop.

I see it here too. Seems like I'm go 3-4 days with minimal activity. Then one evening they hammer them. We had a decent acorn crop. Definitely not a bumper year. I'm betting many are almost ate up or rotted here.

Drilled forage oats. Top dressed lightly with purple top turnips
Wow.

Are those late maturing?

My oats went yellow and they quit eating them. I planted them in 3 layers.

They did eat up the Austrian Peas quickly.

When did you plant? I'm in northern middle Tennessee an I never plant until October 1

OK, I spoke too soon! Just checked cams today and A LOT of action in the plots over the last week to 10 days.

In my plot mixture (Buckwheat, Austrian Winter Peas, Crimson Clover, Wheat), once the buckwheat has been frozen back, the Austrian Winter Peas will be the first to get browsed to the ground. This year, we have so many acorns, I still have winter peas 8 to 10 inches tall everywhere in the plots.
