The FPI, which is used in ESPN's Playoff Predictor, improved Tennessee's CFP chances from 69.2% to 73.9% after the win against Kentucky.

A 10-2 season the FPI gives UT a 78%-80% chance to be in the CFP.

Please don't screw this up by losing to Vandy lol

To get in, even with a loss to GA, we need GA to get Ole Miss out of the picture this weekend.

Will also need TX to beat A&M later on.

I just don't see the committee taking 5 SEC teams. Right now, GA and TX are the locks, with Ole Miss, A&M, TN, Bama, and LSU in the hunt. So, if A&M and Ole Miss are removed from the equation, then it should be TN and the Bama/LSU winner.

But, as mentioned, Vandy could spoil our shot.

I sure hope the Vols make it in but I believe we need to win out.To many other teams with as good or better records than the Vols!!One projection I saw has at least 4 Big teams in and 3 SEC teams in!!If we do pull the upset at Georiga we will be in the playoffs!

I love my Vols but unless they get the offense rolling before the fourth quarter it doesn't matter if they make the playoffs or where they are ranked . They won't go very far. Nico looked better Saturday but his receivers let him down. If the offense starts to really click they are a good team. Georgia and Vandy could both beat the good guys and 1 most likely will.

Josh Pate has mentioned a couple of times on his podcasts that, if the SEC and/or Big Ten feel that they have been slighted as far as teams selected for the playoff, they will blow it up after 2025, as it's currently only a 2 yr deal.

So, if that is the case, then the committee may feel pressure to give the SEC preferential treatment.

As far as whether we are good enough, our defense says that we are. We don't have to score a lot of points, just one more than the opponent.

If we can cut the turnovers and make a dadgum FG, we can beat anybody.

And PENALTIES. Gripes my rear week in and week out

The Vols are a good team but not playoff caliber. I expect them to play Ga close but lose. And, I expect Vandy to remove any doubt in Nashville. That will be Vandy's bowl game even though they will play in a real bowl this year. Their QB is a gamer.
Blasphemy!
