Tennessee Titans vs Atlanta Falcons

Me!
Just got home and kicked off my boots and cracked a beer. Here's to hoping badnole is wrong and mariota doesn't crap the bed. From what I've read he has done great in camp.
Go Titans!!!

0 interceptions in camp over 180 passes, But the way the titans defense just looked on Atlanta's first drive it don't surprise me now lol

Go titans :tu:

i was very impressed. of course his INT less streak was dissolved on an errant screen pass but that was a product of timing not accuracy. The fumble to me was nothing as anyone will drop it if hit on the tip of the ball. But he bounced back with and was perfect on the last drive. his lightning fast release and accuracy were great. in fact, he didn't have a pass hit the ground the whole game. i think he will be great. my biggest concern is the O Line and lack of a running game. sankey just seems to have no explosion

I believe( key word is believe, not written in stone) that Mettenberger is the key to the Titans season. The Nfl won't let the Titans defense play against Mariotta in all the games. Until he learns to read defense and play from behind center he will struggle. These are my feelings and should not be used against me. Thank you. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :tu:

I will use these excuses for Winston as needed. Thank you. :tu:

I agree that mettenberger should start, but I think the key to the Titans season is the defense. I hope I'm wrong because the Titans D has been atrocious the last couple years, and we picked up right where we left off it looks like. We have zero pAss coverage. We b screwed. Jameis will throw all over us in week 1.

I wouldn't read much of anything into this game. It's all vanilla now. I just hope the daily reports of no interceptions in practice can now stop. And keep in mind Manning and Aikman were 1-15 in season 1. Richard Lebeau is a hall of famer and a Buckeye and will have the D coming around by the end of the season. I think Titans fans should focus on the second half of the season and reserve judgment until the end. There will be lots of growing pains. Years of bad drafts and free agent signings won't be remedied in one season and until ownership and the general manager changes, it's going to be tough. I'm a Browns fan. I have much more experience in matters such as these than you Titans fans.

i agree it is not smart to get too excited or depressed over a preseason game. after a rough start, mariota was perfect. But it wasn't the 8 for 8 finish that impressed me. it was how he throw the boy and his release and delivery. They made it clear before the game that we wouldn't see mariota running tonight. That is a dimension page in his arsenal that only a few qbs have and probably none better than Marcus. it will be fun when he is on the same page with everyone and can show of his athletic ability.

"The knocks on Mariota coming into the league were many and varied: He couldn't handle a conventional offense, he couldn't run a huddle-based attack, he couldn't take a snap from under center. That kind of relentless, speculative criticism has to wear on you, even if you do your best to shut out the howling opinions of those beyond the sidelines.

What he did on Friday, then, was prove pretty much everyone right: He looked both flustered and composed, he looked both overmatched and competent. The struggles, you expect. The fact that he pulled himself and his team together and left the game on a high note should give Tennessee fans plenty of hope. He's nowhere near "greatness" — heck, he's still got to look up to see "decent" — but Marcus Mariota showed that he has the potential to get there. Solid effort for the first day on the job."

I do agree with this NFL blogger about MarioTA. Maybe he will get there, maybe he won't.
