Sounds like Sarkisian and Saban had differing philosophies.

If that's the case, Helfrich or Kelly wouldn't be a good fit.
Will this make the 4th oc in in 5 years?
I think Kelly would be a good fit.

His NCAA record was over .800. The NFL has not been a good fit for him.

I would welcome that with open arms.

I don't think Saban will like it when Mr.3&out has his defense on the filed more than Lane did. I just don't see it.

Regardless of your feelings about Lane. No one can argue about his success at ALABAMA. And whoever fills his shoes is going to have to live in the shadow of the record he leaves behind. Those are going to be some hard shoes to fill.

According to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, the former Oregon coach has "no interest" in becoming Alabama's new offensive coordinator. It's news that doesn't really come as much of a surprise if you really think about it.

If Kelly wants to return to coaching on the college level, he can get a head coaching job without having to subject himself to being a coordinator for a season. Unlike Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin before him, Kelly's credentials on the college level don't need any rehabilitation.

He doesn't need a job.

He'll have one after next season, but I surely hope it isn't at TN.

Agree on both.... Because he would build a MONSTER at TN. Need to keep Butch. :tu:

What about Art Briles? Little Nicky isn't afraid to hire a guy with baggage.

Briles will never coach again, plus his "defense is optional if we score enough points" philosophy would drive Saban absolutely bananas.
