Well after getting drowned this morning by the 30% chance of rain, I found one willing to play. In no time he's strutting for me at 35 yards in a wide open logging road. Normally a lay up shot, however somehow I clean miss. It's the first miss since putting the fast fire on the sbe and honestly I cannot fathom how I did. The dot was on the spot when the gun went off.

Oh well, nothing worse then missing, period

A couple years ago I missed two in one season.
Perfect distances too.

Dunno how but it does indeed happen.

As they say, the sting will leave soon. :D

I know how you feel.... It sure does sting. At least you didn't get the humiliation on video.....

i don't think anyone has ever missed a turkey, just didn't hit him good enough

Oh I've missed them. I agree that lots (but not all) of the 40 yard "misses" are body shots or edge of pattern hits, but when you get one in there at 10 yards and wiff, I'd say it's usually a pretty clean miss.

Missed a 30 yard shot last year on a stud that I worked for over an hour. Makes you sick for sure.

I have never missed one that I had worked on for a long time, but I have blown the chance a few times. Nothing like finally getting a bird to commit and only to not get a shot at him(or miss him). Those birds become unkillable after that I believe.

I watched the bird this morning strut 100 or so yards down a logging road all the way too me, still can't believe I let him get out alive.

Even after killing piles of them, there's nothing worse than choking and missing. In this little war I have going against the turkeys I don't like to miss a chance to tote one out.
