There is a curse called the "Archery Talk" curse.

Alot of people over on AT will post they just stuck a deer in the forum before they even start to look for the deer.

It's odd but many of those people never find the deer.

I don't consider it being disrespectful to the animal. In this time of smart phones one can post "Just stuck a deer" within a minute of takin the shot.

It's weird but many people who do the "instant post" after shooting don't come back and post the kill. They often come back and tell a story they never foun the deer.

I think people are too quick to post about sticking a deer.

Its a bit unfair to say a person is disrespectful towards there prey just because they instantly post there play by play....that person may be posting because they have no other person to share a moment with.....thats why I post.....i consider each one of the tndeer members as friends and like sharing the sport and its adventures

Here lately all I see on there is crying/whining like a bunch of spoiled 3 yr olds that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas....because the bow manufacturers didn't come out with what they wanted for 2013.

I didn't mean to suggest that anyone who posts that has that mindset. I just mean that some do. Nothing wrong with posting that you stuck one- everyone wants to share their excitement. Heck, I almost posted the same thing Sunday! I couldn't wait to tell somebody!

Archery Talk has got so big.I go there maybe once a week and never read past the first page.Got to go through pages of junk to get any quality info.
I would venture to say more deer lost with archery and gun than actually killed and checked in.
Yes they seemed more thrilled to post about the shot than actually finding their deer.

I hit the door and never looked back. Only time I post a kill right after I shot it is if I can see it laying dead from my tree. On here u post it and get nothing but congrats. On AT its thats a pretty good one, or you outa see the one I stuck the otherday. Bunch of rude aholes.

Haha I got one of those earlier this year UT.

I had a bow for sale in the classifieds for $350 shipped in the US and a guy PMed me and said he would take it for the price I had it at. I sent him a reply and said it was his because he was the first to respond. Sent him my PayPal info. He sends another message saying "oh yeah, I'm from Canada, is that a problem". I told him that it was because I didn't want to ship out of the US and would have a lot in shipping cost. He responded...said he would pay the shipping on it if I would ship to Canada for him. So I had no problem with that. I told him I would get a shipping estimate for it and let him know what the total was.

So I did that...was gonna be about $50-$55 to ship to him. I sent him the total...and he then started trying to back track...saying that the bow was $350. Yeah...it was $350 shipped in the US but he wanted it for $350 shipped to Canada, after saying he would pay the shipping on it. Long story short, this goes on for about 2-3 days of him trying to get me to sell it for $300 and then with his added shipping cost, it being a total of $350 he paid for it. I told him no deal...he wasn't getting it for $300. I had several people wanting the bow so I figured I had wasted enough time on him. I went to the next in line...sold the bow fast...shipped it...done deal. WRONG!! Dude from Canada sees that I closed my thread and gets his moderator buddy in on it. He said I moved too fast on my decision to sell the bow to someone else. Say what?!!! I promptly told him the bow was sold...paid for...and shipped...and that if either of them didn't like it, I would get them a pacifier and bottle and ship it to them. Boom. Time out for a week. LOL

I only get on AT to get ideas in the DIY section and sometimes in the classifieds to see if there is anything in there at a price I just can't pass up. That entire site if full of pompous, bloviating, know-it-alls that couldn't get their heads through most standard doorways.

Don't forget the cry babies!! There use to be some professional shooters that posted on there but they quit posting because of all the people who were legends in their own minds. The classifieds and the staff shooter notifications are what I go there for these days. I thought I might find some common ground with some of them on their 3D Archery forum but was wrong. All that's on there is complaining about the shoots, complaining about ASA or IBO rules, how the shoots were ran, how the courses were laid out too long...too close...the targets used weren't up to standard...blah blah blah. Obviously there are a lot in that crowd that were given way too many "participation" awards over the years. LOL

I remember when someone started a post flaming Levi Morgan about taking a 70 yard shot on a deer.

Levi actually jumped on the thread and put that guy in his place.

The guy went ballistic and kept blasting Levi to try to get him to come back to the thread lol

Not worth my time anymore . Too many inexperienced fanboys , that would rather boast about thier newest bow than post anything beneficial to other Bowhunters .

A couple years ago, I got banned for life. Have not missed them a bit.

As for the posting before finding thing, I don't like it but it is no big deal. I just figure you should be looking, not posting. Of course, I have no way to do that. I'd have to come home first and I either see or hear most of mine fall.

Nothing beats seat time in a stand ......... Tune everything out and absorb every minute of the hunt . Shut the phone off .

If you shoot a deer, and you're excited, and you're going to wait 30 minutes to go look for it, what's wrong with posting during that 30 minutes? I personally don't use my phone much while I'm hunting, but I have no problem with a man who does.

at is a tough crowd.probably cause its a bunch of yankees. not a good idea to post anything there.;
