The bell curve of turkey breeding

The juvenile hunt conditions should be about perfect this year if the weather cooperates.

Totally normal. Here is the actual bell curve from the 2022 Annual Wild Turkey Status Report (released in Jan. 2023). They haven't released the report for 2023 yet, but these numbers don't change much. There are always a few lucky gobblers who find a receptive hen in early March, or even late February. But the vast majority of breeding is yet to come.

To incompetent to actually get in the woods and do their own study, they had to steal and publish charts from state agencies 800 miles North of us. Anyone who believes peak nest "initiation" anywhere in the state of Tn. falls between late April and mid May, has their head so far up their ass, there is no chance of removing it ;)

Been seeing similar activities here in East Tennessee, the past week. Several sightings of single gobblers on the farm the past week moving about.
Across the river there was 5 or 6 gobblers some hens and a few jakes all still together. Swung around on this side and this one had 5-6 hens by himself.

This was taken on March 5th. I am pretty sure this isn't the normal breeding time for my area of West TN but guess someone has to kick things off. I thought it was worth sharing. Anyone else seen one breed this early?

I am in Rutherford and Williamson county. All just drive by sightings

Checked the cameras yesterday from this past week and had a breeding session caught on camera. Walked the property and seen 3 lone gobblers. I hope they still want to play by the time the season opens.
