I was told the other day that a cadaver dog found the remains of an Indian along the Nolichucky. Don't know exactly where but there was a big Cherokee settlement there back in the day. It's also off limits to artifact hunters as well in that particular area.

There's a show somewhere about the cane notch settlement.from the landmarks on that show it looked to be around the fenders farm to Jackson bridge area. I think etsu students did most of the excavation on that.
